Beowulf
– The Original Superhero

Composed over a thousand years ago, this epic poem was written in old English about amighty warrior called Beowulf who famously defeats three vile and evil monsters in his lifetime.

The world’s first literary superhero initially battles a man-eating monster called Grendel, only to face Grendel’s mother, a hideous hag who comes to avenge her son’s death. Finally, Beowulf clashes with a furious fire-breathing dragon and slays him, but eventually dies from his wounds.

A bloody tale of violent and ugly beasts and the courage and heroic efforts of one man against them. Join us this summer for a legendary battle with evil!

Eduarts® Creative Writing programme aims to develop children’s deep critical and creative thinking by exposing them to a wide variety of text types including poetry, short stories, play-scripts and biographies. Young writers will also learn literary concepts including themes, characterisation, ambience and the use of figurative language. To build the young writers’ confidence in expressing themselves, we will even get them to showcase their works in a public reading session!

What is summer? Can you capture the feeling of summer through great works of art - in paintings and sculpture? Or create your own music and dance to illustrate what summertime means to you? Can you conceptualise, write and act a short play about the summer?

In the Dining Room®, children will be able to do all the above and explore the theme of summer across a wide range of art forms! Come and be intellectually challenged and inspired!

A unique programme by Eduarts® which merges phonetics, music and poetry together, the Word Wrap Chorus® has performed in a number of public venues for prestigious events including the Hong Kong International Literary Festival. It provides comprehensive training in English phonetics. By combining words in nursery rhymes with rhythms, dynamics and patterns of music, students will embark on a journey of imaginative play with sound of words!
