The Dining Room® is a novel approach to learning that exposes children to all the core elements of the visual arts, literature, music, and drama in one program.
Through this cross-curriculum approach, students work in small groups to learn critical thinking, problem-solving, undertake peer critique and written documentation in our theme-based programs.
Each term explores a new theme across a wide range of art forms: a song or a symphony, poetry or a play. Students work in small groups to conceive and execute a set project on the given theme. Our instructors guide the process of conception through to creation, which is exhibited or performed in groups to family and friends at the end of term. Visiting guest artists such as a musician or an architect challenge our students to assess their works from different points of view.

“We learned to ask questions about why the artist drew like that; why the composer wrote this piece of music...and how the arts reflect society.”
